The Equitable Building Destroyed by Fire January 9th 1912
NY: Equitable Life Assurance Company, 1912

Octavo. 15 pp; numerous b/w photos. Original stapled wraps with b/w photo printed on cover. VG to Near Fine, a clean, unmarked copy; light wear along the spine, only visible from the rear. A scarce pamphlet with a detailed description of the fire that engulfed the Equitable Building at 120 Broadway on January 9, 1912. The pamphlet cites several sources - excerpts from the NY Times, the Human Factor, Leslie's Weekly, letters to and from the president of Equitable and Mayor Gaynor, and the Outlook. Dramatic photographs depict the scene after the fire was put out, with thick mounds of ice enveloping the building. Includes a flyer for the company, laid in, and perhaps issued with the pamphlet. One copy on OCLC at Columbia University, NYC.
