Bookseller label from Holliday Bookshop affixed to rear board. Written and illustrated by the artist Barbara Mildred Jones (1912-1978). Jones studied Mural Decoration at the Royal College of Art - where she became part of that distinctive group of artists and illustrators of whom John Piper, Edward Bawden, Eric Ravilious and Edward Ardizzone are the best known.
