Marion Dorn (1896-1964) worked in several areas of design over a forty-year career, mostly in Britain but also in her native U.S. Best known as a textile designer, Dorn was responsible for the rug in Syrie Maugham's famous 'White Room". From about 1922 to 1962 she designed batiks, block- and screen-printed fabrics, woven fabrics, London Underground upholstery cloths, wallpapers, graphics, illustrations, furniture and complete interiors. This catalogue was produced to coincide with "The Architect of Floors" exhibition held at the RIBA Heinz Gallery, London, 1996-1997. Scarce.
